Re: Cakewalk SONAR
SONAR is much better than Cakewalk PA 9.x.
They're still far from Pro Tools.

The Pro Tools interface is still the most reliable one I have ever seen on PC & Mac.

Something closer for the competition:
- Logic Audio: It's better for MIDI but to my opinion it is the worst in the "user-friendly" concept. Some engineers even told me they believe the right name is ilLogic.
- Cubase: More of a MIDI tool but VST opens a big world of plugins. again Pro Tools is much more friendly.
- Nuendo: Steinberg's TRUE audio solution.
It's not cheap so Digi001 is cheaper. however Nuendo provides much more of audio multitrack tool than all other Pro Tools competitors to my opinion at least.

One advance of all including sonar is SMPTE that digi excluded because they keep it for their TDM paying big bucks users.

Re: Cakewalk SONAR
Thnx for the reply
I agree with you - it is hard for me to afford 001 and at the same time in you can find any of the recording software cracked apart from PToolsLE
So even though PTLE are better i think i ll start with something more affordable and expandable

thnx again

Re: Cakewalk SONAR
Sonar seems like it could be a better way to go if you use loops and midi and soft synths. Pro tools would be MUCH better for anything else, and for mixing your music too. The pro tools plug ins are more expensive, so bear that in mind. Also, there's no direct connect as of yet for pro tools on pc wich I find severely disapointing, as it means you cant stream softsynths into pro tools like you can on the mac.

But when you talk about recording and mixing audio pro tools is the way to go. However, there's no drivers to use sonar with the 001. If you bought a 001 and wanted a midi application the one that works is logic audio as it can use digidesign's proprietary direct i/o technology.

Re: Cakewalk SONAR
For Audio the 001 wins them all.
Try finding someone with 001 and go play a little. then download the trial (if they made one like old versions) of Cakewalk Sonar. If you'll decide it's worth something reply. I guess you'll find it... limited.
