Korg padKONTROL as a transport and more

I have a korg padKontrol which I use for triggering samples in Kontakt 3. I'm no MIDI-expert but I do know a lot of control surfaces use midi to control Pro Tools.

is it possible to use the pads padKontrol to do stuff like:

- Stop/play/rewind/record
- Switch edit modes
- Zoom tracks
- Switch edit tools
- Call up beat detective or other windows

Can it be done? If so, can someone please tell me how :)?

FWIW, one local dealer told me he had no luck getting the Korg Nano stuff to work in protools so you may not get far(but I would keep trying and try to read up on the MIDI LEARN function).

Using the midi learn function is correct. I haven't used any of the Nano gear, but the whole point is that you wiggle the control you want to use while at the same time telling PT what you want the control assigned to.

Bottom line is that all MIDI controllers have a specific proprietary ID number. You are just using an imaginary matrix and assigning the ID number to the parameter you want to automate.

MIDI learn function was created for eaxctly what you are trying to do.
