HELP Pro tools bounced files have weird sound!!
 

When I’m listening back to my audio bounced files in pro tools, the wav or mp3, they have this weird muffled or kind of like telephone sound on the vocals and it’s only in certain spots. When I play it back in the session it sounds perfect but every time I export it, it sounds weird. I’m exporting to wav 24 bit, 44.1. My system is a Mac high sierra.

Many problems with bounces are caused by selecting the wrong source.

And always test with real time bounce.

Try to describe exactly what you are doing.

What Darryl said^^^^, then, how are you listening to the bounced file? Some playback programs(like Windows Media Player and iTunes) have settings to make playback louder, softer, wider, etc(and other subjective terms:o) and those features really need to be set to off or none:o

Keep listening to the song. At first it sounds normal but then midway through it starts getting weird.

You are not making it easy for folks here to help you. At what exact time into that recording do things "get weird" and what exactly does that mean? I can't hear anything obvious.

Is this a real time bounce? If not try that.

Sorry. If you listen at about 25 seconds when the rapper first comes in, it sounds normal. Very clear and you can hear him well. At about 1 minute and 50 seconds and so on it starts to sound like he’s talking through a telephone or something. It sounds distorted. I checked all the tracks and they’re good as well as panning and plug ins, so nothing is varying within the tracks. I’ve tried a real time bounce and nothing changed. I haven’t changed any settings from when I usually export it and it sounds normal. I usually do a 24 bit 44.1
