How to Master with LE 8?
Whats up guys, i got my songs all mixed, and bounced...i was just wondering what process i should use to master, ive never done this before.
I get that im suppose to take all the bounces and put them on one session...now what do i do in order to get the levels right...do i put a compressor on each track and up the gain...or do i just use the sliders? Next, how do i apply the dither...do i just put it one on each mix in the master...then disable all the songs but 1 and bounce it again, with the new level and dither applied...or is there another process....i want as high of a volume as possible but im worried about clipping...hope some people here can help. thanks! |

Re: How to Master with LE 8?
hey just watched the first video, very cool...that surely helps a lot, i have watched some of the free Groove3 vids...unfortunately its just bits and pieces for the most part that they show, thou it does help. Know of any places that offer videos like the ones you just gave me that help with mixdowns and such? thanks again man

Re: How to Master with LE 8?
Izotope Ozone is a great buy, it does a great job of mastering IMHO and if your a novice the presets are a great starting point.
Seriously, if you don't want the plugin then read the guide, it's a real good read and very easy to follow, in particular the importance of using multi-band processing. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/guides.html |
Re: How to Master with LE 8?
I currently use Izotope Ozone 4 for mixing and mastering in PT LE 8. The presets alone are killers.

Re: How to Master with LE 8?
I use Waves Mastering Plugins (LinEQ, LinMB, L2) for all my mastering and have never been sorry.

Although i don't have Ozone, I have heard of several people that use it for mixing. Not all aspects but perhaps the multi-band compressor or some single aspect.

Hi
I watched the video on Mixing Pop in Pro Tools by macprovideo.com last weekend. More than helpful. It was suggested in this discussion. http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=252461 Brendan |
