Core Audio???

So I know you cannot listen to Youtube, Itunes etc whilst Pro Tools HD is open.

So how do I listen to other apps whilst working in Pro Tools HD?

I have an Mbox2 mini. Could I install a driver for that and use that for core audio whilst PTHD is open? Or will there be a driver clash?

I also have a M-Audio Lightbridge.

Can anyone shed some light on this. Any solutions?

PT10 HD4
192
Mac OSX 10.9.5

Safest, easiest way is to set mac sound output to internal (minijack out on mac) and connect it to the 192. Then use a aux track in PT. I'm pretty shure you can't mix HD TDM and drivers for those interfaces.

Just fire up the other apps, they can use any other CoreAudio resources on the systems, Built-In output, the Mbox2 Mini, whatever you want.... the challenge is what do you want to do with that analog output? Get them to the same monitors as the HD system is using? To separate headphones? Separate monitors? Do you have a monitor controller? More info needed...

You cannot combine any other interfaces with HD hardware. That is rule number one. Next steps explained already.
