Audio/Recordings won't play over speakers...HELP
 

it will only allow me to playback audio/recording through my preamp...not over my speakers...

any idea how to fix this??

i tried changing playback to my Realtek sound and it didn't do anything


help me out guys...im trying to record today with my group...

We need a LOT more information from you...

• what M-Audio interface are you using?
• What audio are you trying to "play over speakers"? Output from Pro Tools?
• What "speakers" are you referring to, specifically?
• Are they connected to whatever M-Audio interface you are using?
• How are you connecting them?
• what preamp? (and why?)

Answer those questions please, and we might be able to assist, or possibly have even more questions for you.

just to let you guys know i do hip hop...its just a beat and my voice

-Using a M-Audio mobile preamp/interface
-im trying to play the instrumental and recording with protools open...it plays but no sound
-im refering to my acoustic authority speakers i have hooked to my comp
-speakers are connected to computer not the preamp
-they are connected via the green speaker plug in the back
-im using the mobile preamp/audio interface because the guys at guitar center said it would work best for the type of music im doing
-also another note...i can play music and what not outside of protools and with other recording programs...just not protools

Pro Tools audio goes out of the Audio interface only, not back through the computer soundcard. If you want to monitor the output of Pro Tools through speakers, you will need to connect them to the M-Audio device.
It will; you just need to know how it works and how to use it.
Those programs are using your computer sound card for audio output. Pro Tools audio output cannot go through a generic computer soundcard. That is why you were required to purchase the Mobile Pre to make Pro Tools work.

So to answer a question from your first post:There's nothing to fix; it is working as it was designed and as it is supposed to.
