PT 7 and External Mixer/HUI
 

Had a friend ask me if he can use his Roland 2400/2480 as his mixer for PT.Also asked me to set it up for him... I did a quick search on setting this up ( believe it requires additional drivers & midi hookup) for PT to use the non digidesign board/Roland board to control the mixier paramters within PT... My initial Search came up empty. Anyone know of any sites/threads that explain this?

Hi there,

If the guy's outboard gear has definable midi cc for each of the sliders/knobs etc, then you only need to download the legacy midi interface personalities from digidesign and program the roland to "emulate" one of these personalities. I did the same thing with my Keytstation 88 controller keyboard, emulating a JL cooper CS-10. There is also a donwloadable PDF explaining all the Midi CC parameters for emulating one of these legacy control surfaces. I only got the first 8 channels controllable from the keystation but I believe that it is possible to get the rest up and running.
