One fader not responding all the time??

On my command 8 fader 5 sometimes responds and sometimes doesn’t. Any tips for sorting this it seems to be an intermittent problem

Re: One fader not responding all the time??

It's likely to be one of 4 things (in order of least severity first):

0. Exercise the fader a lot.
1. Fader slider needs cleaning. (Remove, clean, refit, recal)
2. Fader/Fader chip is dying. (Find replacement, and replace)
3. Controller board is dying. (Find replacement, and replace)

A good tech that can fix these is probably already in your contacts. (I hope)

Most likely the fader's carbon track is dirty and needs cleaning or has worn away the carbon.
If it were a board problem its most likley all faders would be exhibiting the same issue as they are processed in a bank of 8.

Thanks Neil for chumming in I fixed this the other day, by squirting some contact cleaner in the fader and re calibrating. So far so good [emoji4]

No problem, although contact cleaner is not really a great thing for fader tracks as it attracts dirt to stick and gunge up which is then abrasive to the carbon track.
The tracks are designed to run best dry.
Ive made some videos about cleaning faders properly on a control 24 (which are the same as a command 8) but havent edited or uploaded them yet but will let you know when i have.
