A tragic winter time story.....

After a wonderful year with WIN10PRO.....trouble was afoot.

Daniel had a problem with a MIDI controller- (it was user error) - Daniel Didn't make a backup
Daniel manually modified his drivers in device manager - and didn't make a backup
Daniel messed up his Ethernet Control Surface somehow - and didn't make a backup
Daniel couldn't get PT to recognize his Surface without crashing - Daniel wished he had a backup at this point.

Daniel didn't backup his system drive regularly
Daniel didn't think about this till it was too late

Don't be like Daniel

Backup / Clone your hard drives - it will happen to you.

Don't be like Daniel

A tragic winter time story.....

Oh man, I’ve been jacking with this since Last Friday

I had to make sure I knew how to use the backup software, then backing up and restoring .

Now I reinstalled windows last night, it was pretty quick like 30 minutes in total....

But the real time drag is reinstalling all the programs

I’ve done
Avid (12.5.1)
Waves
Plugin Alliance
Universal Audio

And setup my Ethernet port to look at the right driver protocol for my Icon.

Updated windows, I downloaded everything via my cell phone b/c I don’t have internet in the building

And just now made a backup of that

I am not looking forward to installing Kontakt, they don’t make offline Installers anymore

Re: A tragic winter time story.....

Kontakt is actually easier with Access, the same for PIA, Waves, FLUX and man Trasher (backup to any folder).

Thank unkJE,

I am working with Paragon at this moment.

I tried Acronis but couldn't get the hang of it....
I also tried Macrium and didn't quite like it either.

Paragon seems to let me do what I want to do....It's even the free one.

If you haven't already seen it, check out Guitardom/Steve Gilliland's video:

Anal(og) people like me make 3 copies and store 2 off-premises, at different locations.
Even then, I still want to "see a List of all the Product Keys, Serial Numbers and Licenses" - http://www.klinzmann.name/licensecrawler.htm
