Video playback speed issues
Hello DUC brain trust. I'm having some issues with video playback speeds. I imported a video it Pro Tools 10 along with its reference audio and lined it up perfectly with the existing audio in the session (about 3 dozen tracks). It all synced up fine. When I open that very same session in Pro Tools 12.7.1, the video plays back at a faster speed and loses sync in the opening seconds. I've tried removing the video + audio then importing it and lining it up, but it still plays back faster than what it was in Pro Tools 10.
Am I doing something wrong? I rarely use video in Pro Tools, so don't know if it is a setting I missed or not. Or is it a bug of some kind? |
Re: Video playback speed issues
It's probably the codec. H264 variable rate? Maybe not. But PT 12 is very picky. Try converting the video to ProRes or DNxHD. Also bring that converted video into a new project and import the audio tracks from your other project.

It was a H264. I converted it to DNxHD and tried creating a new session as you suggested. It still ends up the same though, quickly losing sync because the video is running fast. When I look at Activity Monitor, it actually shows Pro Tools Quicktime Server in red with a 'Not Responding' alert under OSX 10.12.3. |
