Guitar fx on your iPhone/iTouch/iPad from IK!

Just got an email from them today. Looks pretty interesting. I like the look of the GUI. Wonder if it sounds as cool as it looks. ;)

Probably the reason the StealthBoard is delayed.

PRS had something like this for a while. More a "jam app" than a "modeller app", though.

Seems like a waste of money, battery life for a phone/ipod, and probably won't sound that great in comparison to something like amplitube 3 or Eleven LE (which you can get for a similar price off ebay, including the ilok transfer fee). Cool concept I guess but in all honesty what would be the use?? The only reason I use amp modelers is for recording or live work which this probably won't cut it. The only use would be it's very mobile but won't be based on the fact the battery would last a total of an hour at best... I would have expected IK to be using their time for more productive R&D.

But you see where this is going with today's handsets having more and more features of full computers. In a few years you will be carying "Eleven Rack" in your pocket, with 6h battery life and you will be streaming your audio to FOH without wires.

Meh I'm not a fan of Eleven Rack first of all (I'd rather have a 003 for that kind of money, just based on the number of inputs and Firewire). Second of all the new hardware they will have by then will be greater than what they make for hand held devices as it always has been... So therefor it will probably be most feeseable to make music on a full rig as you will have more space... Have you ever tried to type on a phone it's annoying just based on the amount of finger space. It's nowhere close to typing on a keyboard. Basically I think the idea of making music on a phone is moronic and a pipe dream at best. Personal opinion of course.

looks great fun... I used to enjoy my pandora alot - didnt sound like some $5000 rig but it fit in my case and sounded sh*t loads better that a solid body unplugged!!
I can definately see the value.. be interesting to see how good it sounds.

That quote will go down in history methinks, along with these... ;)

Certainly a great idea!

Today's portable practice rig in your pocket... tomorrow's Eleven Rack built right into your guitar! Has a nice little flip out monitor on the headstock. Don't forget,t his was my idea! HAHA!

Come on guys, have some vision. You would kill Variax! Seriously.Make some kind of deal with Taylor or something like that. If you had an easy way to switch sounds you might not even need much of a foot controller. Why not?

On the other hand, still it would probably become outdated, thus the good reason to separate the ever changing tech end of things from guitars and amps. For example, modelling amps are a very poor investment. They are here today, gone tomorrow, but my guess is someday the technology will be at the point where the hardware will have enough power for the longer term expansion/upgrades.

Just thinking out load! :-)
