Mbox 2 new driver for Mavericks just doesn't work
I installed Mavericks 10.9.4 and after that downloaded latest avid 10.3.3 drivers from here:
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...-2-Pro-Drivers Good news: Installing of driver is OK and system is restarted and after restart all lights in Mbox 2 turns on. Also when I start my PT 10 it works with my MBox 2 as well. But this doesn't bring much joy since.... Bad news: When I try play audio files or youtube Mbox 2 is doesn't recognized by the system and playback takes place via laptop speakers. Also if I disconnect Mbox 2 firewire and connect it back lights are not turn on anymore except that red power light on left top corner blinks. So now I can't use it with any device anymore. System restart at this point alone doesn't help instead I need to install MBox 2 drivers again and it doesn't solve the actual problem. Also if I try put my external MyBook Studio to same firewire hub with mbox 2 then whole system crashes and restarts automatically by saying first "system has crashed" with grey screen and then restarts. So together with MyBook in same firewire hub Mbox can not be used at all.. All this worked perfectly fine with my previous Lion OS. So definitely something is not working with new Mbox drivers with Mavericks. Any experiences, anyone? Any drivers or other system updates that Im still missing? OR is the only way to solve this buying Mbox 3... |

Another error with current setup and 10.3.3 driver is that when I put system to sleep mode with Mbox 2 Pro connected and wake it up, then I get "system error" grey screen and computers restarts automatically. My setup: - MacBook Pro Late 2011, Mavericks 10.9.4, 16 gb RAM, Mbox 2 Pro connected with firewire 400-->800 adapter, MyBook Studio external drive connected via thunderbolt - Pro Tools 11.1.3 and 10.3.0 - Firmware 10.3.3 |

I get random kernel panics even when the system is sitting idle.
My setup: MacBook Pro Late 2013, Mavericks 10.9.4, 16 gb RAM, Mbox 2 Pro connected via Thunderbolt to FW 800 adapter. Firewire 800-->800 to my HD, then FW 800 to 400 cable to Mbox2 Pro. Software: ProTools 11.2 Hardware; Mbox 2 Pro E. Quote:
