Question re : Co Install
Yep only co-Install that is possible is Win7 and only with PT10 as the secondary Install
On Windows 7, Pro Tools 10.3.10 can be co-installed on the same system with Pro Tools 12.x. (Windows 7 Only) If you have an earlier version of Pro Tools installed, it is recommended that you perform a clean uninstall before installing Pro Tools 10.3.10 (or higher) and Pro Tools 12.0 (or higher). Installing Pro Tools 12.x will overwrite Pro Tools 11.x if it is already installed. Uninstalling Pro Tools does not uninstall all components that are installed From the readme |
Re: Question re : Co Install
I have a feeling you can co- install PT10, and PT12 on Windows 10, provided you install PT10 first.

Re: Question re : Co Install
Thanx All
Bummer though, as my 12.4 version is more than I would ever need from PT Vanilla. But..did have a couple of video related glitches. And...I have this 12.8 sitting there under my current subscription. Would I have to completely uninstall everything Avid before attempting to get 12.8 on my system ? ? I also find that super annoying.. I have 3 different versions of Nuendo running without a hitch...just saying. Again, I appreciate your input . Ohh and BTW, just reading about some iLok issues. What should I check for in order to avoid pulling my hair out ? My Pace software is fully up to date and have Avid perpetual 10-11-12 showing. Will there be a separate 12.8 license deposited by Avid....automatically ??? Why does this whole exercise look so bloody complicated :( |
Re: Question re : Co Install
You can make separate partitions. And with SSDs reboots should take 20 seconds

Re: Question re : Co Install
Or clone your system drive, swap it out and put the other version of PT on the clone:o

Question re : Co Install
Off topic Albee what cloning software do you use?
I've been using Macrium and it's easy but I'm having problems cloning more than one OS drive to my HDD. (A Terabyte multi partitioned) On this subject MAC was super easy, CCC was a 1 button kind of thing |
