Why does activation have to be complicated?
 

Hi, recently downloaded and evaluated the Pro tools 10 version a few months ago. Like the product but was not ready to get my project going so I did not proceed with a purchase.

Then comes out Pro Tools 11 and what caught my attention was better 64bit support, faster offline bounce and the new audio engine. So away I go with downloading the demo version of Pro Tools 11. Everything worked great but I could not get my midi keyboard to be recognized. Bout time I found my Axiom USB keyboard my trial expired.

I reached out to Avid sales and they provided me with a rental 30day trial but I could not get it to activate. After not hearing back from ilok I went and purchased another ilok dongle and i'm back at square one.

I reimaged my Miko, reinstalled Pro tools but still keep getting the same error message;

"This software cannot be run because the activation experience thinks the authorization was found, but the wrapper could not verify it"


Just what am I doing wrong? I've searched the forums and tried resyncing but nothing works. I really need some assistance here. Days are counting down on my demo license while I try to get a compatibly keyboard going.

You ought to get back ahold of sales and ask them for some more help - that was really nice of them though

U might try trasher an app that can be found and use it to clear out the old auth - maybe ?

Yes I am going to get a hold of them tomorrow. I work during the day and when I can remember to call them their office is closed. Tomorrow im off and will definitely be calling them.

Tomorrow is a big holiday for everybody as well in the US

Well hopefully they are open. I just tried the Trasher App to no luck.

You did uninstall the previous version of ProTools before you tried to install the new version

Yes I went as far is reloading my operating system to get rid of any existance of Protools 11.

U know what u need to move the demo off ur ilok - I believe that's what it is

Ilok manager and use it to move the first one off of there then you may have better luck

When you say move, do you mean the deactivate function? I don't see the move it option any where.

Yes deactivate the old demo license. You did buy an ilok2 right? Not the old green key shaped ilok1?
