Artist Mix SEL button doesn't work
 

hi,

my new artist mix's SEL button does nothing. the only way i can select a track is through PT.

is this a programming defect or do i have a faulty unit?

BTW, it didn't work with eucon 2.7 and it doesn't work with 2.7.1

SEL key is working here on my MC Mix w/ PT.
Does anything else work from your Artist Mix - faders, banking, or the Shift-layer Transport commands, Solo/Mute(On)?
Here are instrux for running the unit in Test mode (one way to check that faders and switches have basic functionality):
To access Test mode for Faders and Switches:
1. Make sure the unit is powered off.
2. Hold <PAGE+PAGE>+NUDGE>+the left SHIFT key while pressing POWER to power the unit on. The faders begin to travel from lowest to highest positions and back. LEDs flash on/off. You can press any switch to see its name on the channel displays.

Let us know if any of the other Mix functions are working w/ PT, and if any SEL switches appear unresponsive in Test mode. MIght be a defective unit, but it could be something else (the whole unit or some of it might be "locked" to a different application - EuControl Settings > Assign page).

thanks allot for the reply.

yes, all other functions are working just fine.

when i try to enter test mode the only thing that happens is the first channel strip says 'Use DHCP yes (default). no fader movements. pressing the select switch does toggle DHCP to 'no' but i'm not sure what to make of that.

i'm really starting to think that the unit is defective. i've gotten in touch with sweetwater and a tech is going to contact me. if it's defective they'll send me a new one.

i guess that the key combination for running test mode has changed.

the select switches work fine in test mode but don't work at all when not in test mode. i opened several sessions and nothing.

i also ran auto test mode and everything seemed fine.

i'm waiting to be contacted by a sweetwater protools tech and hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it or ship me a new unit.

never mind...user error. i spoke with sweetwater and they informed me that i have to use the select button next to each fader, not the select button above each fader. i din't even realize that there were multiple select buttons.

I think I made the same thing when I first started using my Mix!
For a relatively brief intro to using Artist series controllers w/ PT, check out the PDF called Artist Series and Pro Tools. It's installed w/ other Pro Tools Documentation. The one installed by PT 10 is newer than the one installed with EUCON (look for "Version 10" on the front page/cover).
