www.paceap.com

First uninstall all programs that are from PACE in your program list. I believe there are 3 or 4. Then reinstall. Click the "Download drivers" (Windows) at the top right of the page.

this happened to me before. Make sure you first uninstall ALL of the Pace/Ilok programs in the programs list in Add/remove programs in control Panel. SORT THE COLUMNS FIRST: Try double clicking the manufacturer column to sort alphabetical. Once you see all of the Pace programs, uninstall each one.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling protools program only (not drivers, instruments etc) and then reinstall.

If that doesn't work, uninstall and fresh reinstall ALL ASPECTS OF PROTOOLS...

If that doesn't work, light computer on fire and bake it at 450 for 20 minutes turning it over half way through. :)

Thanks man .
for some reason nothing can fix the problam.
Somebody know how to communicate with avid for help?
Setting my computer on fire is the next step.

Re: License problams with ilok.

you're welcome...being a protools owner is a real "investment" and lesson in troubleshooting....

3 more things...

1. ARE YOU RUNNING PROTOOLS AS AN ADMINISTRATOR?

2. Did you do all of the system optimizations for your machine, according to the Avid Website? here is the link for that: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...oting/en349411

3. Make sure protools is installed. Then download an uninstaller program...I have used "REVO uninstaller." Use that program to uninstall all traces of Protools...including instruments, datbases, drivers...everyting...Then reinstall.

Do the same for your Ilok/Pace stuff....Start from scratch.

First thank those who help here is a lifesaver.
After trying everything, and I mean really everything, I got a message from ilok saying that the problem is in the licenses of the software and I have to ask avid for them again.
I tried to communicate with them but they do not answer me.
Someone can help me and tell me how to get my licenses again?
It's very important because all of my work stopped for aweek and they only make it difficult for their customers.
In one week, I developed a huge hatred towards avid.

It would help a lot if you would post your system details like:
make and model of computer
what operating system you are running
what version of PT
full system specs

Have you done all the optimizations that PT requires? Like no virus scanners, no system indexing, no unnecessary wireless action?
Windows has a nasty habit of turning off power to USB ports in the name of energy conservation. You have to change it so the USB ports stay powered all the time - you do that through Windows.

Have you tried changing USB ports for the iLok? Note that you may have to re-install the drivers for the iLok when you do this as some Windows systems get picky about changing USB ports.

It's unfair to indict Avid for something that may be the fault of your system. PT is very finicky in what it will work with - it's not plug and play software. You can't have a whole bunch of extra stuff going on when PT is running (or trying to).

Re: License problams with ilok.

Well,
I'm running on Windows 7 on a PC.
intel i7 16 g ram.

I've registered with ilok.com and successfully downloaded my license.
I've installed the driver and client software from ilok.com.
I've installed the Windows driver from PACE.
I have also downloaded Pro Tools again and reinstalled.

My ilok account says I have the Pro Tools license from digidesign and the expiration says 'never'.
The blue light is on the ilok and i've tried it in all my USB ports even after altering the USB power options as suggested in another thread.

I have been trying everything possible for 14 days now and i'm 100% confident I did all that was asked during installation. The only suggested solution which I haven't tried is to spend yet more money and buy an iLok 1 which appears to be more compatible. As they are discontinued, this is an expensive and time

ilok comment

Hello,

If a license that is on your iLok is not authorizing the associated software, please contact the software developer of the software you are attempting to use for further information on the use and authorization of their product.
