Can't record to IOMega 500G FW800 Drive

I get error -9131 immediately after starting to record audio to this IOMega UltraMax drive. I know this is a common error but I think I have checked for the common causes of this problem and none seem to apply to me. Please point it out if I have missed something.

I have been able to record on this same model in the past. I can play audio, midi, instrument tracks from this drive.

This drive from what I understand uses Oxford 811E chipset. I know that 911 is recommended but I'm not sure if that only applies to FW400 drives.

Here are the things I've checked:
1) the volume is partitioned for MacOS Extended Case-sensitive Journaled.
2) I checked in the Windows/workspace area and both A and V (audio and video) for the target drive are set for 'R' which again I think is correct.
3) This is a FW external IOmega 500G hard drive with FW800. There is only a single partition on the drive.
4) time machine is off.

Vital stats:
Macbook pro silver unibody 12/2008 (Intel core duo 2.4Ghz 2G Ram)
MacOS 10.5.7
LE8
MBox Mini (USB)
FW800 hard drive (for PT audio) and USB HD (for backups, disabled).

Thank you DUC community!

Case-sensitive formatting is not supported by Pro Tools. You'll need to reformat it without the case-sensitive option.

Thank you! I don't mind reformatting the drive but I didn't want to do it and then just be faced with the same problem. The previous drive must have been formatted differently.
