Windows 8 Preview

Looks like Microsoft is on one. Windows 8 is looking like the beast from down under. Alot of good features in it. I'm not sure how much that will improve from Pro Tools, but since all app will run natively with Windows 8 from W7, then it should be ok.

Im liking the developers preview so far. There are some bugs. Pro Tools takes a long time to load the first time you launch it per boot, but it runs pretty good. I had a few crashes, a few freezes, but everything overall its working alright.

It does have a lighter feel too, even lighter than windows 7. The difference is not as pronounced as it was between Vista and 7, but you can sure feel it.

The Metro Start screen it different, but once learned, should be ok - of course you can turn it off with a reg hack, and the start menu will return back to its "classic" behavior- but Im leaving it on.

Any one who has an extra hard drive, or a partition of their current OS HDD should try out the Windows 8 Developers Preview.

I've been thinking about trying this out. So you are liking the Metro Start over the traditional start? Are you using a touchpad or touchscreen?

I wouldnt say I like the Metro Start over the classic or vice versa, its just different, and not as clunky as many are reporting, at least not to me.

Im using a normal desktop with a mouse, no touchpad or touchscreen.

You should check it out if you have a way to use it without messing up your current running OS (another hard drive, partition, ect...)

Yea I'll probably try making a 100GB partition on my main drive and test it out.
