Taking plugins to another studio?
If I use a 3rd party plugin in my session, then take that session to another studio, that plugin doesn't work, is there anyway I can take the plugin with me without having to install it on the other system, such as putting it in the session folder somewhere?

I think that the only thing you need to do is copy the .dpm file from your plug-ins folder and take it with you to the other studio, where you just put it into their plug-in folder. If it's a simple plug-in (not a VI with bunch of libraries and components), it should work fine. However, you have to take your iLok with you for (assuming the license is on iLok). If there's some sort of challenge-response authorization, it might be a bit complicated.
The other (and much easier) way is to print your effect to a track and take it to the other studio this way. Tom |

Ok that makes sense, I just wish this was an automated process, would make things so much easier.

this is when the ilok is awesome. you can load your plugs onto the other studio's computer and when you go, just take the ilok. when you are not there they can just put the plugs in the unused folder until you return
