Hi. I am having the same problem where High Sierra and ProTools are not recognising the 003 Rack+.

There is nothing being blocked in Sys Prefs and it is not showing in Profiler.

Could you perhaps expand on what you did to 'keep on forcing' it to work?

Many thanks.

Hello Bro did you resolve about 003, pt, and Sierra ?
I downgraded from high Sierra to Sierra 10.12
downgraded pro tools 2018 12 to pro tools 12.6
though is compatibility problem but after I did all as by compatibility Avid road, it is still same and even slow motion became on any click in pro tools when playback is 003 ! The main problem is IO because there is miss paths, in, out, by default is seated up as for 003 but there’s only best what is that come sound out from 1 and 2 can hear but cant control sound from 003, else are not functioning too.

Re: Digi003 with High Sierra

Try a new 400/800 adaptor, my first one was not working either. I have a 003 Rack+ and am running Mojave. I just tried upgrading to Catalina, and the 003 definitely did not work - so nobody try that!!

When I went back to Mojave - I found the latest update (11.1.5) of the 003 Family installers was not working correctly - so I tried the previous version (11.1.3) and everything loaded fine. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...02-003-Drivers

Remember to keep it unplugged (firewire) and turned off until after loading the 003 Family installer. Then select it in System Preferences and start Pro Tools.

I have an ADAT running off light pipe for 8 more inputs and my old DIGI 002 doing a sub-mix of my 4 toms and outputting a stereo tom track to the 003 Rack+ via the ADAT. 18 tracks total with 12 Pre-amps. Running off a Mac mini (late 2012, 2.3 GHz with 16 GB Ram).

Hello, for what it's worth, this is how I got my 003 to work with 2018 on High Sierra.

1. Uninstall Avid 003 Family Drivers
2. Uninstall 11 Rack and NEVER reinstall it. Don't let Application Manager install it even if it nags you!
3. Disconnect 003 from computer- not just off but remove firewire cable - it is important not to have the 003 connected during installation
4. Reinstall Pro Tools app - whichever version you use - DO NOT Launch app yet
5. Restart computer
5. Install 003_Family_11.1.5 drivers from: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...02-003-Drivers
6. Shut down computer
7. Connect 003 to computer and power on computer
8. Turn on computer
9. Open Avid 003 Family in System Preferences and make sure it is connected and choose settings - Optical Format setting should be ADAT
10. Open Audio Midi Settings and choose 003 for sound in and out
11. Launch Pro Tools
12. Never install 11 Rack Drivers

This worked for me. I hope it helps someone else:)

YOU ROCK !

Thank you, your approach worked without A HITCH.

Rocking 2020.3 with High Sierra with my Digi003 CONSOLE / NICE

Will run it through it's paces and chime back in.
