Re: PT 11 and OSX Mavericks 10.9
PT 10.3.6 works for me in Mavericks (DP1 and DP2; DP3 untested), however it seems processing power is inclined to drop out - I have lots of 'lost connection/change buffer size' errors, and the new 002/003 driver doesn't work (well, the control panel doesn't display, so you can't control it. Also, SPDIF seems to not work in the new driver for 002, period).
Not sure why I'm having so many errors when bouncing and recording. I really need to just switch back to Snow Leopard; didn't have any errors in that. Problems have been occurring ever since I upgraded to ML (10.8), and performance become so unstable I really had nothing to lose by testing 10.9. My CPU (Native) meter in System Usage is generally below 35%, but I still get these errors. System specs: CPU - i7-950 RAM - 24GB DDR3 @ 1066 GFX - 2x nVidia 9600 GT (I think one of these is failing, but shouldn't affect PT) HDD - 80GB Intel SSD My session files are stored on a striped RAID set (which moves data significantly faster than any other drive I have) - not sure if PT has troubles with RAID since 10.8, but it certainly didn't have these issues when I was in 10.6.8... |

Typical un-supported config thread and wondering/complaining why it doesn't work, so awesome!

Re: PT 11 and OSX Mavericks 10.9
Good one. Based on past experiences, a thread that announces PT won't work well with a beta of a new OS isn't news.

Re: PT 11 and OSX Mavericks 10.9
I didn't feel this thread was about complaining, but rather people sharing their experiences with it.
Seriously, why would anyone think it should work with an OS that's still in development (and not available to the general public)? Especially when Pro Tools doesn't always update OS support all that quickly? That being said, it DOES work. :D Still, I see nothing wrong with those of us who have Pro Tools, and have Mavericks sharing our experiences with it. |
