Eleven Rack Problem
 

I'm having a very strange problem with my new 11r. It worked fine for the first couple of weeks, but all of a sudden, the UI in PT10 is messed up. The DSP works fine, and changes I make on the 11r hardware are applied, but the GUI is useless.

I can't see anything or make any changes to the rig except via the knobs/switches on the unit itself. Any advice?

was it the new 11R bundle that came with the ERXP pre-installed?

If so, then you don't have the proper UI plugins. Somehow Avid overlooked the fact that the ERXP requires an installer to insert the UI plugins into the plugin folder so that the 11R window can reflect the new ERXP items. Supposedly they are working on a fix, though its been over a week since they last mentioned it, and the fix is as simple as posting the files in a compressed folder, then drag and drop to your plugin folder.

Do you have the ERXP? If so, assuming you were on PT9 before, you may need to run the first part of your ERXP installer so the UI files are placed in the plugin folder.

OR

Was it working fine on PT10, then all the sudden, nothing? Maybe try a different USB port or cable. Make sure you are plugged in directly to the PC and not a HUB.

Maybe try trashing preferences and databases.

Thanks for your replies. I actually did get it sorted myself. It was the bundle that had the erxp installed...I installed it initially and things were fine for a couple weeks, like I said. But then today when I tried to use it, it was blank like that. I just reinstalled the erxp and things were fine, so it was just the UI plugin that was bad. Thanks again.
