Record Enable/ Arm Track Keyboard Shortcut?

Been looking for a way to arm an audio track in PT 8 by way of keyboard shortcut. I'm recording myself using a wireless keyboard from inside my booth, so I can't click on the record enable button (R) without stepping out of the booth. I know about F12 and 3 on the number pad but that won't help if the track isn't already armed. I need to know how to "arm" the track. Does anyone know the shortcut for this (if any) or have any suggestions... besides have someone track my session for me?

Sorry if this has already been posted. Couldn't find any info.

I am not aware of a shortcut. My solution is to have a mouse and monitor in the booth so I can actually run the entire session from there. I use a VGA splitter on my edit window screen(could easily be the mix window screen as I run dual LCD's). Of course that requires a cable(and I have a loom with VGA and PS2 connections). I bet there is some wireless VGA solution out there:rolleyes:

Thanks albee1952, I was just hoping there could be a shortcut out there. It looks like the monitor in the room idea is the most do-able. Thanks for the quick response.:(

SHIFT+R

On the highlighted track(s) So u could always use 'P' OR ';' to tab to a certain track & then SHIFT 'R'

Why can't you leave the track armed for record? Record Arming the track and then using F12 or NKP3 will start recording and Spacebar will stop recording. If you have Insertion Follows Playback turned on - in Preferences or in Commands Focus Mode toggle it on and off with the N key - the cursor will be at the end of the recording and hitting F12 or NKP3 again won't record over the previous recording.

Or just go with Key's suggestion Actually.
