PT 7.3 and TRacks24 issue...Need advice
 

had to upgrade RAM on my MacPro(Tiger 10.4.9), after upgrade RAM PT7.3 works fine but TRacks24 is asking for an Authorization code...being that the software is 14 years old I was told by IKmultimedia Tech to download Tracks24 update and try it again. but My MacPro has no internet....can I download the TRacks24 update to my Windows computer and just move it to my MacHD folder and try it again. ?

*If my TRacks24 won't update, what other IKMultimedia products are compatible with PT(specifically 7.3)? So I can get back to work

ANY advice is helpful, thanks in advance.

I doubt that any current IKMM plugins will work with your ancient PT.

If the old software authorizes using challenge/response method, you can just copy the challenge text and submit it to IK using some other computer, then paste the response to your studio computer and be done with it. Problem here is if you copy and paste with a pen and paper method, you are prone to typing errors.

Your MacPro has no internet? I think you're missing something as every Cheesegrater has two ethernet connections. Use them to connect to your router. So you DO have internet capability on that machine.

Duh, maybe the place has no internet? Even so, modern phone and USB should do the trick. Unless the studio is somewhere in the wilderness :eek:

Yea, small city of only 250k people but still have gigabit connection here :cool: monthly 29.90eur in case someone is even remotely interested how expensive internet is in the wilderness

Well thats not expensive. A 1000 mbit/s here innel stockholmo is 400-500 SEK = 48-50 Euros = 57-60 USD so 30 bucks is cheap man.

250K is not a small city IMO but most cities here in Sweden are like 30-50K and only like 7-8 cities are more than 100.000 people. We are less than 8.6 million all in so sweden is small as **** :D

300 mbit/s is FAST as most US cities are 100mbit/s or less for more than 30USD

I know. Finland is 5.5M total, with only Helsinki metropolitan area being bigger than this. So... wilderness everywhere outside the capital.

When I first got PT, I dedicated the entire machine to it so I didn't use the internet on this particular computer at all. Also, I was told by fellow PT users that if I updated my browser it would jack up my PT and render it useless, so I never updated the browser on the Mac. I used it strictly for PT and used another computer for internet use.

No, it just needs the correct serial number typed in to get the Authorization code. the correct serial number was typed in but it won't allow me to go to "Next" screen to enter Digital ID and get the Authorization code.

Any advice is appreciated.

Any chance you could post a screenshot of what you are doing? So old stuff hard to remember. Also I am assuming you have already contacted the vendor...

I don't remember hearing that before about a web browser interfering with PT other than load on the cpu when trying to run both at the same time. Back on topic though you could download the plugin on another machine but make sure you download the Mac version and not the Windows one. Further make sure that the version/revision you download will work with your particular OSX and PT. Requirements may have changed since eons ago.

Are you running any script blockers? Accepting cookies? Also some of these schemes are sensitive if you use caps lock instead of the shift key when typing in upper case letters. Might also be case sensitive. Just checked and IK s/n's are all upper case. And don't confuse zero with the letter o.

OK, SUCCESS!!..turns out my IK tech guy wasn't sending me the correct serial number....So I was finally able to Re-register my TRacks24!!!!

but now a new problem :( , I get the code -6104 (cpu audio usage) blah...WTF is THAT all about??:confused::confused::confused:

Do you get the error when using the TRacks24 in a session? If not try moving the plugin to the unused plugins folder and see what happens.

I will try that too...but yet ANOTHER issue just popped up...Now PT7 will not convert my tracks to wav. during "Bounce to Disk" so I can Master them...:eek::mad:..

Any advice on that?

This is turning into a REAL Nightmare guys...:(

So what file format your session is using? Bounce does the same file format. Say you are bouncing AIFF it is almost the same as WAV so when you create a new session for mastering you should be able to easily import your bounce.

Now I don't know if your version of bounce is real time or not but if it is you could always go old-school and route and record the output of said track to another audio track.

Still not converting. there's gotta be something I can do. Have you ever heard of this happening before with Pro Tools? not converting files to wav or Aiff? should I reload Pro Tools? that sounds like a bad idea but I'm getting desperate man. any help is appreciated.

I usually bounce to a wav file so I can Master it in TRacks24

But now when I try to "bounce to disk" the system will act like it's doing it, but when it's done, I can't find it in the folder I sent it to. like nothing there. at all

the issue is the coverting to wav or AIFF. my PT7 is not converting the tracks at all. they remain ptf files. it's so weird. I can't see any wav or aiff or mp3 when I "bounce to disk"...it's lilke they are hidden somewhere and going to that folder. but that's impossible because I tell it where I want it , it's just not there in the end.

and yes, I bounce in real time. I can hear the track as it bounces

Then don't use bounce. Go old school and record to another audio track since you're working in real time anyway.

I already told you how in post #26: record the output of the track to another audio track. Simply route the output of the track you were trying to bounce to an audio track, record enable the new audio track and hit record in the PT transport.

Can you remove everything else from your USB except audio interface and ilok key? Bounce to internal system drive. Still giving the same error?

my PT7 didn't come with an iLok key and the only thing I have plugged into the USB's are my MBox2, Monitor and keyboard (Mac)

keyboard , monitor plugged into the back and the MBox2 plugged into the front of the Tower

Try changing the port your audio interface is connected to. They're not all the same; older Macs have subtle differences between the ports on the front and the ones on the back. Swap the keyboard with the audio interface. You're not using a mouse?

You may want to fix your sig file - there's no way you have 250 gig of ram ;)

Where are you storing your sessions? Internal drive in one of the drive bays?
