how do I connect my midi keyboard to my mbox?

Hi Iam a new mbox user and I cant figure out how I can connect my midi keyboard to my mbox.
also when I connect it via my computer using a usb plug, it tells me the was an error downloading the software needed to run my 1x1 m-audio midisport.
please help.

and one more thing how do I get sounds coming from reason or i tunes to play on my monitors which are hooked up to the mbox? I downloaded the digidesign core audio drive as recommended by my manuel but still nothing happens, all the sounds from I tunes and reason are played by my built in speakers on my computer.

I would appreciate any help,

Re: \"and one more thing...\"

If you got "Reason Adapted for Digidesign" just open the Reason-plugin
on an aux Input in a PT-session. For the standalone Version, iTunes or other apple apps like DVD player you need to start the Digidesign CoreAudio Setup. Make sure iTunes is in the "Supported Applications" list. Next step: start "Audio-MIDI-Configuration" and select Digidesign Mbox as Standart-Output. Thats it.
Hopefully we find sombody with answers for your usb-keyboard problem.
I will buy a Mbox + iBook soon and looking for the right usb keyboard.

Hello and how goes it? Hope you have had some luck since your post but if not let me give you some input as to what I did. I had an mbox (up-graded to 002r) what i had to do was get a seperate usb midi interface and run from my midi keyboard. I set it up and voila! all was working fine. I loved the mbox as it was a good intro for me into pt. It's a good piece of equipment but could use a few more inputs. I think it would be great if you used it to record a small live set up through a mixer using the s\pdif. Good look let me know if things work out. [email protected]

You need a USB MIDI hub to work with MIDI with Mbox. $60 or so--try the MOTU Fastlane. It has two MIDI inputs/outputs with thru option.

It would be sweet if Mbox didn't need the hub, but alas, it does.
