Driver For HD Native that is not mine

Hi,

so I have a perpetual license for PT's. I'm trying to connect to an HD Native thunderbolt interface with a HD OMNI interface.
I dont own any of the hardware so the drivers are not in "my account".

How do you get these drivers? AVID isn't really preventing people from using hardware that they, themselves, have not purchased are they?

thanks for any help.

BTW.. I google and searched for the answer all day yesterday, and couldn't find anything regarding my specific problem.

The driver should be a part of your installer to your perpetual license. Have you checked your Avid account?

If you're running PT HD 12.6 or later, you'll need a DigiLink I/O license on your iLok as well to use the hardware.

thanks for the reply Ryan,

Yes, but there's no download link. I think this I/O license is the issue.

Re: Driver For HD Native that is not mine

yea, thanks everyone for taking the time to reply...
I think I might not have a PT's HD / Ultimate license.
Believe it or not I've been using PT's Since 3.1.2
but I've been out of the loop for the past few years.
Only using it at work and they have all the licenses.
I updated my mac book to High sierra, then Mojave, and every time I went to run PT's it was incompatible. So I just got this Samsung X5 SSD, and wanted to see how performance was on my later Gen Mac Book with Thunderbolt 3. Well... because I have the "Perpetual" license I'm like, OK, i'll just bring the drive and my MB to work and play back some sessions that I have there and you can't connect the X5 to anything other than a thunderbolt 3 connection (power needed from USB-C port).
So I'll just connect my work I/O to my personal MB and check it out.
I downloaded "2018 Ultimate", not really knowing what the limitations were, and I think you guys are right about the HD license. So... am I going to pay to upgrade for a stupid test? well, you know how we are... of course. I must have the top of the line stuff, even if I don't use it to its full potential.
am I missing anything obvious? I'll go see how much this upgrade is.
thanks again.

Once you figure out your licenses, the HD driver installer always comes bundled with the PT installer dmg. It's in the Driver Installers folder below Install PT package.
