intel 815E motherboard / thumbs up or thumbs down?
Does anyone have any opinions or thoughts about the intel 815e or intel 815ep motherboard? As far as I know, it meets the requirements and recommendations stated by the folks at Digidesign. It is socket 370, has 5 pci slots and 4 usb.
Here are my system specs: 512 pc133 ram pIII 1ghz 30gig 7200 HD ethernet card Windows ME Digi 001 sound card / interface and if possible, i'd like to add a Soundblaster live card for midi usage. Are there any known conflicts when this mobo and the 001 are used together? Thanks |

Several users including myself have and love this board. Mine has the network and sound onboard which I use as well with no probs.

No problems with this board or the CUSL2-C Asus for the Digi. You should not have too much of a hassle with the SoundBlaster.
If it is the onboard sound model disable the onboard sound chip. Most bios versions have a sound blaster section to set its IRQ. This can be helpful in getting the IRQ's the way you want them so the digi-001 and the SoundBlaster work together better. If you are not using cubase or a printer scam the IRQ for that which is 7.
