Windows 10 1809
 

So I have version 1803 installed and see where 1809 is approved for PT12. I'd like to install it but only see version 1903 out there, which is not yet approved.

Is there an incremental update to 1809 available or do I just not worry about it and wait until Avid approves 1903. Just moved from Apple a while back and was pretty experienced. Still learning the Windows world.

I'm on 1809 and 2019.6 W10 Pro with no issues, although I don't stress PT at all for my work.

Only issues I've had with Windows updates is having optimizations like USB Power Management and default Windows sounds/audio interface sometimes changing back to their pre-optimization settings. Just need to check and reoptimize the settings if/when needed.

Windows updates always re-enable my usb power management as well, and will occasionally wipe out my Matrox drivers, and install some crappy generic vga driver. Annoying, but fixable.

So where do I download 1809 specifically? I only see 1903, which I don't want. I know Apple has links to each incremental update. Something the same for Windows?

May 2019 update is 1903

Choose what you want. If you want further back you have to go into Microsoft's software depository. They don't make it impossible to get old versions unlike Apple.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you want 1903?

BTW, if you have Windows 10 Pro, use Group Policy Editor to completely turn off Windows Update. Sorry, no GPE in Windows 10 Home.

Avid has not approved 1903 so just trying to stay official. It may be working fine but I'm not experienced enough in Windows yet to take that chance.
