P7R4 Magma Chassis still supported in 8.0.3?

Digi mentions the Expansion HD chassis will not be supported, but not sure if the Magma 7 slot P7R4 chassis will still be supported. Didnt see any literature on it. Working totally fine with 8.0.1

Yes its still supported, Expansion|HD is a digidesign product name, (nothing to do with magma chassis) of an expansion chassis over a single gigiabit ethernet connection and its obviously a bit too hard work to support.
Look at the new expanded systems guide that on the 8.0.3 download page for more info.

Thanks much. Ok, I just noticed the little post DIGI put there about discontinued support and wanted to make sure I was good. I see you have the same chassis I do. Ok, cool.

Yeah the model we have is a good fast chassis so should be supported all the time PCI-X HD cards are.

I use a Magma P7r464. It's working very well. Really I have an HD 4 in it and can't tell it's even in a chassis. No performance loss at all.
Best,
Brandon

Yup Me too,
ten times better than the Expansion|HD i had before it,
Plus i only have one of the 2 cables hooked up (i got mine second hand and it only came with one)
So i wonder how much better it would be with both cables connected.

FYI the one I bought was second hand as well. It came with one cable too. The cable looked like a shd 68 pin scsi cable. I bought a 3 foot scsi cable from eBay for 16 dollars. It works great. Magma is selling their cables for 109$.
I think the chassis is working with a little better pci load. The % dropped in the system usage window by 10%.
Best

Thats strange because i bought 2 different SCSI cables from ebay, one 0.5m and one 2m length and neither of them worked for me,
I dont suppose you have a link to the one you got do you?
