Do you mean you want the Edit window on one and the Mixer window on another monitor? Can't you just drag the window to whichever monitor you want it? They're not docked together. Or are you talking about moving the faders from the Edit window to another monitor? Can't do that.

Mac?

Go to System Prefs.
Choose Displays.
Uncheck "mirrored".

OOOps.
I think you are on a PC.....

Re: dual monitors

You don't. You make the Pro Tools app window full size, such that it stretches across both monitors. (You don't use the Maximize function, if you're on a PC.) Within this full size, full width window you place your Edit and Mix windows however you like, which in your case is with the Edit window on one monitor and the Mix window on the other. It sounds a bit crude, and it is, but it works well once you get used to it. I don't think about it any more, and it's fine.

What deanrichard said, and then close the session with alt-f4, which SHOULD store all the widow positions.
