Torrent Downloads

Hi!

I'm downloading the PTIEP. That's a lot of GB and the download manager really doesn't work for some reason (I'm on a mac). Would it not be possible to offer a torrent download for each product instead? Simpler and works in the background.

If the download manager isn't working, try clicking on the direct download link instead.

I know, thank you. It would be a much nicer way of downloading such big files tho. No need for the browser to be up for it to work, you just leave it in the background and it takes care of it whenever the computer is on.

Leave what in the background? Torrent software? Torrent clients are far more CPU intensive than a browser. Just minimize the browser, and keep working.

I know that, but they also give you better download speed than http downloads. I'd like to start working with what the stuff I'm downloading.

well if you are talking about torrents with seeds and leaches, then that would violate the EULA of AVID as any seeder is technically Distributing an Avid product, this would require a huge re write in the EULA and will not happen as far as i can see.

That's only the beginning. Viruses, trojans, etc. - any number of other problems could be introduced into the app by unscrupulous individuals, esp. when you can't verify source of torrent.

Who is your provider? Perhaps you can buy more bandwidth. It took me only a few hours to download all of the files. Good luck1

I guess there's a bit of work for it to happen but it's not a problem to limit access to a torrent tracker (for registered users).
I've had really bad download speeds from the avid site so this has taken some time, but it seems the problem is on my end then.

Thanks
