Self noise of the Eleven Rack
Hi guys,
I was trying to record foley (footsteps, movement of clothes etc.) and got lots of noise. I am not very experienced so sorry if I am missing something very obvious. I tried the t.bone SC 400 (large diaphragm condenser, very cheap at around 60 bucks) and an AKG D5s. I know that these mics aren't great and pretty cheap. The signal goes into my Eleven Rack. Would you consider buying a better mic (if so, which one could you recommend for low level recording?) or a better preamp? |
Re: Self noise of the Eleven Rack
What kind of noise did you get? Is it a buzz or hum, static or just background noise?
Neither of the mics you have feature high pass filters, which can help filter out low end rumble, but you can accomplish this in PT using a simple EQ. Tell us a little more about your issue and I'm sure someone here can help. |

Is the 11R 48v phantom power switch turned on for condenser Mic?
