Pro Tools LE crashes!
Hey! Im having issues with PT. Im running Windows 7 64-bit with a Mbox2. I installed PT like a year ago, and have been using it without a problem. But a few weeks ago it started crashing while it loads. I had re-installed 3 times, trash prefs, and erased everything (related to Avid) and still cannot even get to the menu without crashing. I will copy the log! If any of you can help me, I would appreciate it.

Re: Pro Tools LE crashes!
If guitar rig is what's crashing pro tools, I would remove it from the plugins folder.
I would also update to 8.0.5 as almost every previous version of 8 suffered from some serious issues. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: Pro Tools LE crashes!
IIRC, I think he'll need the 8.03 full installer (can't tell if that's what he has now), then the 8.05 update.

Random thoughts:
Guitar rig(and all amp sim plugins) is a huge resource hog, so 5 instances on a 32-bit system would drag most any computer to its knees. With windows 7, you need a couple of things in play: #1-use the right-click>Run as Administrator option when installing PT, or any software/update. #2-you should have the 8.0.5 updater installed(adhering to rule #1) #3-right-click on the PT icon and select Properties>Compatibility and check the boxes for "always run this program as admin" and "disable desktop composition" |
