Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 with 10.3.
Hey guys,
This may be a very very simple and stupid question - but I have an MBOX Mini 2 and they're no longer compatible with Pro Tools 10.3 on Mountain Lion so I'm looking to buy a Saffire 14. The MBOX - if I'm right - took the burden of some of the processing in Pro Tools off of the computers processor by acting kind of as a sound card when it was connected. . . does the Focusrite do this? Or did the MBOX never do that and I've just made it up ! Haha. Thanks for any help. |

Well it's your interface so it does become a sound card for Pro Tools, but the processing is all done on the computer. The Focusrite will act the same.

I had an MBox2 and it never did that. It was just an interface. You are talking about on board DSP. I am using a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and it surprised me. Focusrite products are good.
