I’m not understanding what you want to do here. You want Protools and QLab to run at the same time, and then to record the QLab outputs into Protools on the same computer?

Or do you simply want to use the Protools HDX hardware as the audio interface output for QLab.

I had the HDX audio interface set up as the Core Audio output for QLab on the Mac Pro workstation that I built for my last job. It worked fine. But I think I had to upgrade to PT2018 to make it work. Something in the HDx drivers didn’t output Core Audio correctly for Mac OS until they fixed something in either the last version of PT12, or the first version of PT2018.

In QLab, you have to go in to the preferences and set the audio device and routing for the Avid HDX Core Audio. I don’t think it will work an an aggregate device.

Also, just to be clear, we’re talking about QLab, the theatre sound effects playback software from Figure 53, here, right?

And, I just saw that you are in OKC. I happen to be in Stillwater today. I could zip down there and help troubleshoot your system if you are interested.
