AAE error-1180....over and over

Pro Tools ultimate HDX on Catalina.

Anybody know what is causing this? Sleep and hibernate are deactivated.

Specifically, what version of Pro Tools? “Ultimate” 2019, 2020, .x??
Is your version compatible with the operating system?

The latest. It’s been absolute garbage, crashing over and over and ruining every session, humiliating my engineers. I’ll bet logic works flawlessly.

Just uninstalled and reinstalled everything. Hopefully that works. But this had only been installed on this computer for about 6 weeks

The latest is 2020.9.1. Is that what you’re running?

Do you fall under this heading? You didn’t give us an actual version “number.” The “latest,” unfortunately, isn’t enough info, and it might NOT be the latest.
“We have become aware of an issue that may affect certain machines running Pro Tools 2019.12 or later on macOS 10.15.4. When recording or playing back audio, the OS may lock up and require a hard reboot. We have found that Thunderbolt 2 spinning disk drives are more susceptible to this issue. We have worked closely with Apple to resolve this issue with high priority. We recommend that you continue to run Pro Tools on macOS 10.15.3 or 10.15.5, and refrain from installing macOS 10.15.4. Thank you for your patience.“

I think that’s it. We use a spinning drive in an enclosure. So far doing sessions from desktop, engineer has gone 2.5 hours without a crash. Thanks.

Where did you find that? I should probably know, but I don’t. I went years without issues until “upgrading” this year
