Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
Hi,
I recently bought a new MacBook which is running mavericks os. My old computer has my pro tools 7le with a digi 002 and have just purchased pt11 for my new computer in the hopes I could download pt10 and open my tracks. It says mavericks does not support pt 10 and my music won't open with all the plug ins on 11. I am considering installing parallel software to run windows on my mac unless there is a better way of opening it. Any help is appreciated Thanks |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
It is not supported, but it will run (with you self-supporting all weirdness there may be). Better than deal with Parallels.
Is your computer too current to run Mountain Lion because if you could downgrade to that PT10 would run as expected. |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
BootCamp would be much better than Parallel, VMs and Pro Tools do not mix

Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
No - my computer won't run mountain lion or anything below mavericks.
I have installed pt10.3.8 further than 10.3.9 but it will not open. Any ideas? If I plug in my digi desk will it open? |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
You need to give more info of what you want to do
From what I understand l think you ought to just buy another interface - put the 002 out to pasture UA twin is cool for about $700 or a Avid approved apogee unit... B/c the 002 is too old to work with PT11 and PT10 won't work (not supported) on Mavericks |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
The biggest problem is that the tracks I recorded in my pt 7le won't play in full in pt11- the plug ins are missing- how do I get the whole track from one version to the other in its entirety?

Regarding the missing plugins and what to do, see this thread.
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=363185 PT LE 7 is quite old, release in 2005, so you'll have a bit of work ahead of you. |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on mavericks
