Re: Fast Track Pro Drivers Windows 10

Hi,

I've got the same issues with you that the driver 6.1.11 for Fast Track Pro will make Blue Screen Crashes every few hours under Win10 Pro.

From the previous discussion, it seems that when running under Win7, nothing bad happened, and the driver runs well. Therefore, I guess that, is that a way to force the driver running in Win7 Compatible mode?

From the driver downloading page: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ck-Pro-Drivers
We may find that the driver 6.0.7 is the latest one that supports Win7 32-bit and 64-bits, but NOT for Win 8/8.1.

I have uninstalled the 6.1.11 and rolling back to 6.0.7, under my Win10 Pro computer. It seems running fine till now.

Has anyone tried this method and any error occurs?

Hi
Windows7 64 - Fast Track Pro - drivers v 6.1.10

no BSOD yet, but (as someone has reported previously) drivers are preventing Windows to shutdown properly
I the past I was on a Win8.1 and got the exact same issue - machine would never turnoff

is anyone experiencing the same thing?

i've upgraded to 6.1.11 and used it for a few days
the shutdown problem (pc never turns off) seems to be gone, even tough I got a BSOD once while shutting down

but the huge problem is that randomly, while recording, sound becomes CRIPPLED. its like starts to loose samples

last thing I'll try is rolling back to 6.0.7

Re: Fast Track Pro Drivers Windows 10

It's been two weeks I'm running with 6.0.7
So far no issue, no hangs on shutdown, no lost samples while recording. Driver does not come up in the process list as a huge cpu consumption (as it was with latest avid drivers).

So to me, for Windows 7 at least, 6.0.7 are the driver to use

hi all!

i installed 6.1.12 driver on windows 10 home

well, it works, BUT not properly - there are only 2 outputs detected, 1 and 2
outputs 3-4 are not detected and not indicated by any DAW i'm using (fl studio, abletone, vegas)

is there any solution for this bug?

many thanx for ANY answer!

Wow am I feeling out of date ! I am trying to find out if I can realistically expect to be able to run Fast Track Pro on a Windows 10 computer. And if there are recent updates as of 2020? Most references I've found here are from 4 or 5 years ago.

I've read the relevant posts, but am not sure what the verdict really is.

Pretty much all you need to know is here (the reality is unclear/varies.. you need to try it on your system if you want to take that risk) and on the driver page (not officially supported and won't be, and no updates anymore). https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...ck-Pro-Drivers

Unfortunately M-Audio lower-end stuff was such a failure Avid dumped the business. Avid just was not/is not set up to do that well. Maybe just time to buy a new interface. Lots of other companies to choose from, including Focusrite, Presonus, UAD, Motu, ... A Focusrite 2i2 for example is not expensive and solves any compatibility issue you might have.

This might be as simple as opening IO setup and hitting the DEFAULT button, or manually adding the input paths. Having said that, I agree with Darryl about updating your interface. Most of the M-Audio interfaces were built to a price point and quality was/is sorely lacking. Add to that, M-Audio drivers were never that good, and its not a great outlook. Of course, if your budget is too tight, then keep trying and keep your fingers crossed(but also be prepared to wave the white flag at some point:rolleyes:
