Mbox Pro Firmware question
 

I'm running Pro Tools 10.3.8 on Mac OS 10.7.5. I have mbox3pro also.... I also have an external startup hard disk running el captain 10.11.6 and I would like mbox 3 pro to work with that also so I can install PT 11... I need to download a new mbox driver for el captain . This particular driver also automatically updates the firmware...
so, Will the mbox3pro be able to work on both systems or am I headed for a headache ? The avid requirements cut off the functionality to 10.8.5, but I do not want to upgrade my Lion system right now.. I 'm afraid if i upgrade the Mbox pro wont work with lion... Help!!!

I've got the same problem, and I would like to know if this updated firmware could be a problem to work both with my two platforms.
I know I have to install two different drivers on each computer, but what about the firmware ???

Whatever you do don't use lion with protools 10 it will not work you will have a migraine for sure. If I remember correctly protools 10 works with Yosemite OSX system. Best to check the avid website for that to make sure. But I know for sure lion will give you that migraine.

Will probably work the best with 10.8.5 as thats the best OSX version in history which ran out HD10 and Pro Control and HD5 system which are all sold now but what great days back then ... mmmm

Turn on the switch and the whole studio lights up, computer room start buzzing and everything just "worked" as advertized :-):p;)

You might have to go back to Mavericks OSX system for protools 10 to work.

This. Unless you want all the headaches people talk about trying to run PT10 on Yosemite or above. Blank insert menus, etc.
