Problem With App Manager [SOLVED]

I recently updated two of my Windows 10 systems to PT 12.8.3 and App Manager 17.12.0. My main system updated without any issues. However, my backup test bed system now has a problem with the App Manager Ver 17.12.0.

At first App Manager would not work properly. It went into a crazy loop at start up that looked like it was trying to reach an external server to sync my account or something. I uninstalled PT 12.8.3 and the App Manager and reinstalled both again. Same results. So I uninstalled App Manager 17.12.0 and reinstalled App Manager Ver 12.8.0 from a link I found when I searched the AVID web site. It installed ok and did not go into the crazy sync up loop. However, now it wouldn’t let me update certain apps under the plugins tab. It would not let me update Codecs LE and DX Driver.

So I decided to update App Manager to Ver 17.12.0 using the upgrade option from within App Manager itself. I was able to successfully upgrade to App Manager 17.12.0 and I no longer get the crazy loop when it starts up. However, it still has the same problem as Ver 17.8.0. It still won't let me upgrade Codecs LE and DX Driver. All other plugins installed and upgraded correctly.

When I try to download and install these three updates, they download and unpack fine, but during the install step, I get the following error message:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path..... etc.

This seems odd to me as I am not using any network drives on this system. When I close that window I get a small window that says:

Error 1714. The older version of Avid DX64 Bit Driver cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.

Any thoughts on what is going on and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

Problem Resolved:
The problem was actually more extensive than I first thought. Bottom line is that many registry entries related to Avid plugins somehow became corrupted. This prevented complete deletion of all registry parameters when uninstalling PT 12.8.3 and PT 10.3.10. Uninstalling PT would result in improper/incomplete removal of all PT registry entries. I used Revo Uninstaller to completely remove all traces of Pro Tools from the registry and then reinstalled both PT 12.8.3 and PT 10.3.10. Everything seems to be working properly now. Hope this helps others if they experience similar symptoms.
