Graphics cards

OK guys, I'm running ATI. Obviously that is not recommended by AVID. Here is my big question. I don't want to run an underpowered Quadro Card and I know not all of you do, and yet have PT set ups that run just fine. What cards do you use and/or recommend.

Thanks guys.

From my experience all you really need to worry about is having dedicated graphics. alao good quality ram as cheap brands can cause issues with all softwares and the operating system.

Re: Graphics cards

Do you have specific needs? My rig runs fine with a $37 MSI GeForce 7300LE card feeding a pair of 22" LCD's at 1650x1080. Pro Tools has fairly light graphics requirements(why I ask if YOU have some special needs in this department). ATI was king of the hill for quite a while and if your system is running fine, I see no reason to make a change.

Of my 5 hard drives I have 1 boot for gaming, 1 for sonar, 1 for protools, one for internet, and one for "other". The ATI card was primarily for my gaming drive. I do not have an integrated card on this build.

So if you have no troubles, I would not change anything.

Read my post on "Annoying Save Error". It has been suggested that my Gcard is to blame. Also me only having 4GB of RAM.
