Drag and Drop files on Mac not working

I've read the posts about Windows users not being able to do this but after installing PT11.1.1 I cannot drag sound effect files (.wav .mp3 etc) onto the timeline. Many work but about half do not and this didn't happen in PT10.

Clues much appreciated

Which format on the audio drive(s)?

I have a mixture of mp3, wav and aiff in my sound effects folder, all are giving problems in a random manner (some work some don't). I have tried playing with the settings (convert to session format, automatically copy on import etc) but none have an effect on this problem.

My bad.

I meant; how is the disk formatted?

Project disk is Mac OSX extended (journaled) as is the SFX disk. So weird - I just tried again and there seems no rhyme or reason to it.

That is strange. Does importing audio (Shift+Cmd+I) otherwise work reliably?

What session format do you use?

Do you have Spotlight indexing enabled?
