"Could not complete your request because basic_string..."
 

Hi,

I can't figure out what's happening with my Pro Tools system and am hoping someone might have some insight. It started while on ProTools 10.3.6

Approximately 7 times out of 10 over the last few days, when trying to launch Pro Tools, it returns with an error, which I've attached screenshots of here.

"Could not complete your request because basic_string::_S_create."

I click OK and get a second message, also attached. When clicking Ok on the second message, the dialogue box just blinks and stays there. It keeps coming back up, and I can't open Pro Tools. I have to Force Quit in order to close it out.

I've used disk utility to repair my hard drive and it worked once. I also upgraded from 10.3.6 to 10.3.7 and that worked once when opening 10.3.7, but now I still get these errors. I uninstalled 10.3.7 in safe mode and reinstalled and still get the errors.

I DO have Pro Tools 11 on my Mac as well, but I don't use it just yet.

Wondering if you have any thoughts on what might be happening, and any suggestions?

Just as a follow up, I repaired disk permissions again and now ProTools is working. Other times when I repair disk permissions, it doesn't work. All it repaired were some itunes things and internet plug in things.

I wanted to add this piece of info, in case it helps you help me. The inconsistency is bothersome.
