Using your DAW for other applications?

From my PC days, I've always had a dedicated computer to only use pro tools however with my new Mac Pro I'd like to do other things such as video and graphics. Does anyone see any problem using Adobe products on the same mac as pro tools?

Thanks

I have never had a problem. But it's good to close all other application while using protools. But the main issue you are battling is CPU, so it really depends on what you are doing.

In the "old days" (2001-2005ish) I dedicated my PC to Pro Tools only. Over time I loosened up the rules. The last few years I just use my recording computer for anything and everything. And since I got my MacBook Pro I don't even worry about it anymore.

Yeah my MacBook Pro has become my "do-it-all" computer. Seriously I record video for Podcasts, surf the net, play games via OnLive, watch movies on Netflix. I'd like to get a Mac Pro to dedicate to Audio and Video editing only, but that may be a while.
