Plugin Alliance have gone subscription

Some guessed correct regarding PIA new ”Deal of a Lifetime” as they have gone subscription with a yearly fee of $199 and €199 + Tax and €249.99 a year for Europe which adds €80 plus onto that €199 or €249.99 a year so ....

As we already own most of the plugins we need from PluginAlliance and a cazillion other devs we are all good here!

Spending on Hardware only this past 1.5 years have been awesome and it is a whole lot more fun to actually touch and play with the analog beauties we bought instead of buying more plugins we dont need to make great music.

For thos starting out getting 100 plugins for €249 or if you own some that yearly pay up front fee lowers might be a good deal but this whole subscription here and subscription there makes all this payment a no value for those who dont make money on their stuff as you wont have anything the day you stop throwing away your money!

https://www.plugin-alliance.com/

I say BUY the ones you NEED and learn to use them 100% and concentrate on your music instead of this subscription fever that has come over us all ...

All IMHO of course / Peace Out!

Well said! Its amazing how many people still believe that great plugins will make sound their mixes like a pro ;-)
In 90% of my mixes and times I use up to 10 plugins from 300 I own.
And I wish PA would fix old issues rather aggressively marketing new plugins or versions (DSM v3) with the same bugs. They even don't bother to answer my support ticket anymore.

That was a predictable let-down on many levels.

#1: Deal of a Lifetime turns out to be nothing more than a subscription. Booo!!!
#2: Anyone else notice the heavy hitter prices on the new stuff is double what it was not 6 months ago? Booooo!!!!!

So that hype was just a BS spin on new subscription plan and a price hike. He - meaning Dirk - thinks we are idiots. There is no other explaination for the disrespect of the abcense of straight talk. Instead it's rah rah rah, crazy eddy nonsense.

Pity.

Totally disrespectful and pointless. I can’t remember the last time there was an update on any of their plugins to fix issues.

Agree, I bought all their stuff during the heyday of vouchers. They still have a **** load of my money though so they should be happy.

At least PA hasn't gone the Adobe route of subscription only (yet). You can still get permanent licenses. The 'heavy hitter' prices now are not only higher than they were before but they're also higher than what intro prices were the last time PA introduced new plugins. Used to be intro prices were one price and the heavy hitter prices were lower than that by a significant amount. That's all gone away.

As mentioned before in other threads here and at GS - I'm only waiting for the Ampeg B15 next month and I'm done with PA. If I want to spend the kind of cash they're asking then I'll go with other companies/developers that care for their customers, release working updates and are worth the price charged. I have no problem paying big bucks for plugins if the developer really cares about good customer relations. Ever try and get tech support from PA? Not happening

Yes, remember buying that one back in 2008.
Dirk's first release :)

I am now planning on selling most of my PA stuff.
Keeping a few specials though.

Crawling out of the box now, and getting back into analog more and more ...
So refreshing.

Ordered a Stamchild last June (2018).
Should be on its way any day now ...
