The new interface for Q10, L1, C1, DeEsser, Audio Track, etc.. is nice. The mouse wheel works now to adjust any of the parameters. Instead of just being able to grab a knob and twist you can hover over it and go up or down.. Very nice.

Too bad Aphex didn't make the first round. Wonder when they will show.

And V Series is now part of Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Horizon, and a few others.

Re: Waves V8 Comming!

An important clarification that could be useful to everyone:

On this page here there are two cryptic warnings:
http://www.wavesupport.net/content.aspx?id=4314

Important Notes
• V6, V7, and V8 can all run concurrently on the same computer. However, V8 and Waves versions V4 and V5 cannot.

• All previous versions of products that you update will be removed from your iLok and replaced by V8. After updating to V8, you will not be able to use these versions again.

This is kind of good news...

Basically say you own a Gold Bundle (V6 lets say) and you want to add an SSL Bundle(v8.) In the past you would have had to buy the WUP on your Gold bundle to get everything working together right. Not anymore- you can simply buy the SSL and the new plug in bundle will work alongside the old. That's what they mean by running concurrently.

But if you do perform the WUP on the Gold Bundle and you update to V8, you can't have the older versions running anymore. So say you are running multiple host softwares and one of them doesn't support V8- you can't have V7 and V8 running on the same machine, so that's what the second thing means.. there is hardly any instances where this is the case though- Waves has built into version 8 backwards compatibility all the way back to Version 6 of Pro Tools for example. But it's good to know.

So Waves is basically not making people update WUP if they want to stay at the same version of one software and use the current version of another.

I have (so far) found zero negatives with this update.

successfully updated everything except ssl 4000 native bundle - i get constant message during update process at my waves account: "no serial found, contact technical support". i'm waiting for reply from waves now...

i just hope i can install the other bundles i have and use it with v7 version of ssl4000 until waves resolve my problem.

it's good to be wup-ed :D:eek::D

EDIT: waves resolved my problem couple of hours after I contacted them by sending ilok assets to my ilok account. great! :)
