Vocal Tracking

Hey guys, I'm back again with more questions in hope of some answers :)

I'm tracking vocals, and I'm not sure which way is the most efficient in the mix. Everything else is finished, (guitar, bass, drums etc.) and I want the mix to be perfect!

Is Antares Auto-Tune efx worth the purchase?

Any help would be awesomely appreciated!!

Re: Vocal Tracking

some more info would be useful.

what do you mean by 'efficient'.

and auto tune is only good if you have a problem to fix...if you get the vocals bang on in the first instance then everything is much easier!

the most important thing is to capture a full sound to begin with, and this means mic placement. no amount of autotune, E.Q, compression, whatever fancy plug-in is the latest, is going to fix a weak crumbly recording. So before you invest in Autotune, be sure to master the most effective, and cheapest technique - where it place the microphone.
