[0x45A] Error, can no longer run PT 2018.12.0
 

Hey guys, sorry if this isn't the right spot to post (let me know and I'll move it)

I was working on a session today and started having an issue where PT would freeze after I loaded a certain session. To troubleshoot, I trashed prefs, restarted my PC, and when I went to launch PT I was met with this error:

"One of the files this plug-in needs cannot be found, please reinstall or contact technical support for assistance [0x45A] (attempting to load iZBreakTweaker.dll or c:\Profram Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\iZBreakTweakerAAXHook.aaxplugin\Contents\x64\i ZBreakTweaker.dll)"

I did some searching and went to the above file location and "iZBreakTweaker.dll" is in there, exactly where the error says it should be. I tried trashing prefs again, I tried a clean PT install, and I'm still getting the error.

Has anyone experienced this before, and more importantly, figured out how to deal with it?

You can try a rescan of all the plugs. Trash the file C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Pro Tools\InstalledAAXPlugins to get PT to rescan. Restart the computer before rescanning.

Yeah. I ran into the same exact problem a few days ago after trashing prefs.

Move all your iZotope plugins to the unused folder. Start Pro Tools.

Assuming a proper launch ---- Create a session, make sure everything looks right, then close Pro Tools.

Put your iZotope plugins back in the Plugins folder.

Launch Pro Tools.

Everything should work now.

^^^ That is it. Remove and then add back after all other plugs validated. There seems to be a problem with .12 validation. Also problem with Vienna plugs.

Though you may have solved the issue already using the above methods i thought i would mention that I have lost breaktweaker and other Izotope's when updating PT on one windows laptop and after about an hour of trouble shooting i found that somehow when the update was doing it's thing that the installer moved some plugin folders inside other plugin folders and were thus not recognized when PT booted. An example : in the Programs>Common>Avid>Audio>Plugins folder i found the breaktweaker folder IN another plugin folder(an avid comp or something), and by moving it out to the next higher folder level it was recognized again. It took me a bit to figure it because if i looked in the User>Avid>Protools>Plugins folder it showed everything to be fine(breaktweaker not nested). So i did a Search for breaktweaker on the whole drive which,of course, brought up ALL the breaktweaker file locations(maybe 500 plus?), through which i (semi)patiently scrolled until i found the actual plug in, and there in the location path i could see it was obviously nested. I spent some time opening every single plugin folder in the Common plugins folder and found several more "missing" plugins nested . Once i got them un-nested everything was hunky dory.
