PT First & Apogee Duet 2
 

Not sure if this is an issue with PT or the Duet , but perhaps you folks can help me isolate and solve.

Testing out the functionality of an Apogee Duet 2 I'd found in storage in conjunction with Pro Tools First, however not getting any signal. The rudimentary I/O under "Hardware" menu seems to check out, according to both tutorials and to common sense. Any advice?

Applicable details below:

- using MacBook Pro / High Sierra
- firmware and software for Duet and Pro Tools First are up to date
- I have a sampler looping sound into 1/4" inputs (have tried other sources too)
- inputs are set to "Inst" in hardware I/O
- I get a meter spike when toggling between Inst and Mic input settings under hardware menu, so I know macbook is "hearing" the Duet

I feel like it should be something obvious, as the ProTools First interface is as basic it gets. I have experience in troubleshooting more sophisticated ProTools versions/rigs as well, but am totally stumped here.

Any advice is appreciated.
