Eleven Rack Keeps Disconnecting
 

Just Got the Eleven Rack and I am floored by how awesome it is. It's exactly what I've been looking for and it sounds frickin' awesome. Makes we want to play guitar all day again.

But...

The damn thing keeps disconnecting.

If I'm in Pro Tools I can work for about 1/2 and hour before I get the message:

"Pro Tools cannot communicate with Eleven rack."

Once that happens I have to shut down the whole system and restart.

If I'm in Ableton Live or Reason or just listening to music in iTunes the same thing happens, just without an error message. In those cases I just power down the 11R, restart it and it's working again.

I've updated the firmware. I've disconnected all external USB stuff (hard drives, MIDI controller, printer). I've tried different USB ports.

Update: This seems to happen every time I step away from Pro Tools, leaving the system idle for a few minutes. In other DAWs it seems to happen randomly.

System: iMac 2.66 GHz Core Duo/4GB RAM

Leopard 10.5.8

Is there a reason you haven't upgraded to Pro Tools 8.0.3cs2 or 8.0.4? Doing so might be helpful.

I had a bad USB cable with my 11R. Did you try a other USB cable?

I just want to add, while I dont get disconnected after a successful launch.

I have found that the times the 11R window doesn't launch, the MIDI OUT 1 light on my 003R blinks while launching a session after I boot up PT and the 11R window is trying to connect.

For me, after booting the PC, I have to let it sit idle for about 10 minutes before I can launch PT or the 11R window will not launch and the MIDI OUT light on the 003R blinks while PT is trying to connect to the 11R window. Even If i click YES re-connect, the MIDI OUT 1 light blinks, and I get the same error message (Would you like to re-connect ect..)

So I have to shut down PT and re-launch, and sometime I have to totally re-start the PC and launch PT.

When It does connect, no MIDI lights blink on the 003R, and the 11R window launches fine.

Again, i run the 003R as my main interface with the 11R patched in via SPDIF. Just a fyi.:cool:
